Alfheim’s Defense

Alfheim’s Defense: Divine Awakening

Every Chief chooses one of three Divinities to Awaken: Heimdall for rallies and garrisons, Tyr for battles on the map, Freya for gathering and for buffs to your whole Team. You level it with Divine Crystals.

Do this
  1. Awaken a Divinity on your first day in Alfheim. It is on the hub's right-hand rail, as Divine Awakening.
  2. Pick by what you do most. Rally leader or garrison holder: Heimdall. Field fighter: Tyr. Gatherer or support account: Freya.
  3. Spend your Divine Crystals as they come. Chronicles pays them, and upgrades on the statue are paid in them.
  4. Choose your Divinity point effects. Tiers I and III each offer three; pick the one that fits your role.
  5. Talk to your Team about Freya. Freya's buffs reach every Chief in the Team, so a Team needs enough Freya picks to make them count.

What the statues hold

Each Divinity is a statue with its own nodes. The ones the game draws:

DivinityNodes
HeimdallOdin's Grace, Training Speedup, Garrison Attack, Rally Defense, Medical Expansion
TyrTraining Speedup, Rapid March, Pike Breaker, Infantry Breaker, Field Damage Bonus, Healing Decrease, Medical Expansion
FreyaConquest Expertise (PVE damage), Potion Enhancement

At level 5, Tyr's Rapid March gives 3%, Pike Breaker and Infantry Breaker 2% each, and Medical Expansion 10%; Training Speedup reaches 5%.

Divinity point effects

As you level, you choose one effect per tier. Tier I offers Field Blessing, Field Damage Reduction and Field Damage Bonus, for battles outside your City: fewer troops severely wounded, less damage taken, more damage dealt. Tier III offers Odin's Grace II, Healing Decrease and Healing Speedup.

Divine Crystals

A Divine Crystal from Chronicles gives you one crystal for each Divinity: one for Heimdall, one for Tyr and one for Freya. The statue spends them on upgrades. See Chronicles.

Freya and your Team

Freya is the one Divinity whose buffs reach the whole Team: Infirmary capacity, and the healing cost and healing speed of T5 and higher troops, for every Chief in the Team. The more Chiefs in a Team awaken Freya, the stronger those buffs get. The Divine Awakening screen shows how your Team's picks are spread.

For tribe leaders

  • Agree the Team's Divinity mix before the war: enough Heimdall rally leaders for the Lairs, enough Freya for the Team buffs, Tyr for the field.
  • Remind members that Divine Crystals come from Chronicles, and that unspent crystals do nothing.
Don't
  • Don't skip Divine Awakening. It is a core system of this season, and it raises your Infirmary capacity among much else.
  • Don't pick by habit. Pick by the role you will actually play on this map.
  • Don't sit on Divine Crystals. Spend them on your statue.
